Question 1

What is ceramic coating, and how does it protect my car?

Accepted Answer

Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to your car’s paintwork, creating a tough, long-lasting protective layer. It shields against UV rays, water spots, chemical stains, and light scratches, while adding deep gloss and clarity to your vehicle’s finish.
Unlike wax or sealants, ceramic coating offers much longer durability — making it ideal for anyone who wants their car to look flawless all year round. Applied after machine polishing, it’s the perfect choice for both new and used vehicles.

Question 2

Can I apply ceramic coating to a new car?

Accepted Answer

Yes – and honestly, that’s the best time to do it. Even brand-new cars pick up light marks, fallout and grime from transport and dealer prep. With our New Car Protection package, we safely prep and lightly polish the paint, then apply a 5-year Gtechniq ceramic coating to the paintwork, wheels, glass and interior surfaces. It locks in that new-car look for years and does a far better job than the usual dealership “protection” upsell.

Question 3

What is ceramic coating and how does it protect my car?

Accepted Answer

A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to your car’s paint and hardens into a tough, glossy layer. It protects against road grime, UV rays, bird droppings, and light scratches, while making washing easier. Think of it as long-term armour for your paint, not a temporary shine like wax.

Question 4

How long does ceramic coating last?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the package you choose and how you maintain the car. Our Single Stage Enhancement includes a 3-year coating, while Two Stage and New Car Protection use a 5-year coating. With proper washing and maintenance, many customers see protection last even longer.

Question 5

What are the benefits of ceramic coating over waxing?

Accepted Answer

Unlike wax, which offers short-term shine and protection, ceramic coating delivers long-lasting results. Our Gtechniq ceramic coatings can protect your vehicle for up to 5 years with proper care, far outlasting traditional wax. With superior hydrophobic properties, they repel water, dirt, and grime, making your car easier to clean and maintain. If you're in London and want a low-maintenance way to keep your car looking its best, ceramic coating is the ideal choice.

Question 6

Can ceramic coating prevent scratches on my car?

Accepted Answer

Not fully, no coating makes your paint bulletproof. It will resist marring and swirl marks caused by washing, but deep scratches and stone chips can still happen.

Question 7

How do I maintain my ceramic-coated car?

Accepted Answer

Maintaining a ceramic-coated vehicle is easy with the right care. Skip harsh automatic car washes and choose gentle hand washing using pH-neutral shampoo and soft microfibre cloths to preserve the coating’s performance. For hassle-free upkeep, The Valeters offers expert mobile valeting across London and nearby areas — bringing safe, professional cleaning right to your doorstep.

Question 8

What should I do after the coating is applied?

Accepted Answer

Avoid washing your vehicle for at least 7 days after application to allow the ceramic coating to fully cure. After that, stick to pH-neutral shampoo and gentle hand washing to maintain the coating’s performance. Avoid automatic car washes or harsh chemicals that can damage the coating. For ongoing care, explore our maintenance plans, designed to keep your car looking its best, effortlessly.

Question 9

Is mobile detailing cheaper than unit based detailing?

Accepted Answer

Mobile detailing is often more affordable than unit-based services thanks to lower overheads. Without the costs of rent, utilities, and running a physical location, mobile detailers can operate more efficiently — passing those savings on to customers with more competitive pricing.
