Is ozone safe, and when can I use the car?

Yes, ozone is only run in a sealed cabin with no people or pets inside. Once the cycle finishes, we fully ventilate the car.

You can usually drive it within 30 minutes, though in some cases we may advise a little longer if a stronger treatment has been used. A light scent may linger but fades within a few hours or days depending on the duration of the Ozone treatment.

After cleaning, seats and carpets are usually touch-dry within 2–4 hours. If the car was heavily soiled or treated for mould/ odours, it may take a little longer.

The key is to let the car air out properly. If doors and windows stay closed while fabrics are still drying, trapped moisture can cause a damp smell.

Consider leaving the windows slightly open when parked, if safe to do so and or running the air conditioning or heating, to help everything dry fully and keep the interior fresh.

We prioritise the problem first, then use the remaining time to clean the rest of the interior. The package allows up to 2.5 hours, if the odour or mould is extensive, we may spend the entire booking working on that particular area until we feel its resolved.

If any odour remains after the booking, the odour may need more time to fully neutralise. In most cases the smell will fade within a day or two as the cabin airs out. If it’s still noticeable, get in touch and we'll advise whether a longer ozone cycle, a cabin filter change, or extra time on the affected area will sort it.
